Eddie Pimentel is an up and coming saxophonist from Los Angeles, California. His performance experience includes performing in notable venues and places such as the Hollywood Bowl, the Blue Whale, the Baked Potato, Vitello’s, the Valley Performing Arts Center, and also internationally.

Eddie has been fortunate enough to share the stage and perform with such artists as Louis Cole (KNOWER), Ben Wendel, Nate Wood, Bob Minzter, Alex Illes, Pete Chrhistleib, Tierney Sutton, Katisse Buckingham, Nick Mancini, and others! Recently, Eddie  had the opportunity to perform for a panel consisting of Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Jimmy Heath, James Newton and others in consideration for the Monk Institute Class of 2018.


2018: Chosen as a finalist in consideration for the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Class of 2018

2015: Winner of the Outstanding Collegiate Saxophonist award at the 2015 Reno Jazz Festival

2011: Winner of the Outstanding Soloist award at the 2011 Heritage Jazz Festival in San Jose, CA

2009: Winner of the Outstanding Soloist award at the 2009 Heritage Jazz Festival in San Diego, CA

2016: Received Outstanding Original Composition for Small Group award in the 2016 Downbeat Student Music Awards

2014: Opened the 2014 Angel City Jazz Festival at LACMA

Selected as winner of the 2014 Angel City Jazz Competition

2010: Winner of the Outstanding Soloist award at the 2010 Heritage Jazz Festival in Anaheim, CA

2007: Selected as winner of the 2007 Valley Cultural Young Artist competition
